The horrifying assault took place in Stockport after the mum answered her door to a stranger. Detectives are now hunting the attacker after he pounced on the terrified woman in her hallway late on Tuesday December 20. The mum, who is in her 30s, was in bed with her two children in when she heard repeated knocking on her door at about 10.30pm. After answering the door, an unknown man grabbed her by the throat and pushed her to the floor. The man sexually assaulted her and only stopped because of the mum's loud screams, which were heard by her children upstairs. The attacker fled the scene after the woman called for help. Who he? The suspect is described as Asian, of slim build, around 6ft tall and about 20-years-old. He was wearing a dark green zip-up hoodie and dark blue baggy jeans. Detectives are appealing for anyone with information on the shocking attack to come forward. The woman, who was left traumatised by the violent assault, was supported by specially-trained officers. Detective Inspector Julia Bowden, of GMP 's Stockport borough, said: "This was a terrifying attack for both the victim and her children who heard their mother's screams. "They are currently being supported by specially-trained officers. "Incidents of this nature are horrifying but rare and we are doing everything in our power to find the man responsible. "We have a team of highly skilled detectives working round the clock and there will be additional officers patrolling the area. "I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time to please contact us immediately."
