The 'fitna' referred to in the above-quoted tripe denotes strife of any variety: heresy, apostasy, deviation from shari'ah, civil war between Muslim communities or anything else a swivel-eyed loon could take offence to. It was the Second Fitna, a civil war that ended in 692, that spelled the enduring schism between Sunnis & Shi'ites.
