Jihadist Widow Wants to Come Home. Too Bad.

So says the most trusted compilation of ahadith in Islamic scripture, Sahih Bukhari, in volume four, book 52. Mohammed thought it appropriate to lie to the enemy. Well, nothing controversial there, one would think. Misdirection has always played a part in conflict, the allies were past masters at it in WWII, to the benefit of mankind in general.

The trouble with Islamic deception – otherwise known as taqiyya, however, is that Muslims are told that all non-Muslims are the enemy for all time. Thus Muslims see fit to lie to the rest of us as a matter of course. Take Shukee Begum, a Mancunian mother of five who took her brood into a war zone, supposedly for the sole purpose of persuading her delinquent jihadist husband to come home. Now he's dead she wants to return to civilisation, claiming that the Islamic State is not Islamic, as reported by MailOnline today (hat-tip to Ivan Humble @NewDayStarts):

Shukee Begum is said to have left the UK last year and was smuggled into Syria through Turkey, although she claims it was only to persuade her husband, Muftah el-Deen, to come home. There are conflicting reports about whether he has died, however it is known she is appealing for help to return home. In a video obtained by the Sunday Times, Begum says ISIS is 'not Islamic' and says she has spent the past 10 months in the town of al-Bab in northern Syria. She taught English to the children of foreign fighters. In the recording, she said her house being bombed by the US-led coalition was the final straw. Begum, her three daughters and two sons escaped with the help of a group which aids defecting ISIS members, according to the Sunday Times. The family was handed over to the Free Syrian Army, but they have been unable to make it across the border into Turkey. Separate reports claim she is now stranded in Turkey. Ahmed Adul Kader, an activist with anti-ISIS group Eye on the Homeland, based in Turkey, told The Telegraph he was involved in getting the family out of the country. 'They want to go home to Britain. They can’t stay here in Turkey. They believe they will be targeted by Isil (ISIS),' he said. A Foreign Office spokesman said: 'We can confirm that a British national and her children have been reported missing in Turkey. 'We have been supporting the family in the UK alongside the police. All relevant information has been shared with the Turkish authorities and we continue to work closely with them on this case. 'The UK has advised for some time against all travel to Syria. Anyone who does travel to these areas, for whatever reason, is putting themselves in considerable danger.'
