Islamic School Flies in the Face of British Law & Customs.

"The Prophet said, 'Isn't the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?' The women said, 'Yes.' He said, 'This is because of the deficiency of a woman's mind.'" So said the nasty, raping, thieving, blood-spattered prophet of Islam, as recorded by the most authoritative & esteemed compilation of ahadith in Islamic scripture, Sahih Bukhari, in volume three, book 48, number 826.

This is why women cannot drive in Saudi Arabia. This is why rape victims are prosecuted in most Islamic countries. This is why Islamic schools in the UK feel that they can flout British law & openly exclude women from consideration for employment, as reported by the The Telegraph yesterday (hat-tip to QueeniesSoapbox @QueenLareefer1):

Muslim boys' school bans women from applying for job as science teacher

An Islamic school has advertised for a new science teacher but ruled out female applicants

A Muslim boys' school is facing claims of segregation after advertising for a temporary science teacher but making clear that women need not apply.

The advert published by the outsourcing company Capita requested a "Male Science Teacher" to cover lessons, including some mathematics classes, until the end of the current academic year on a short term contract for up to £150 a day.

Secular campaigners said the advertisement was just the latest in a series of demands for religious customs and practices to be "accommodated" in the education system as a result of giving faith groups the power to run schools.

It follows a storm over allegations that non-Muslim female staff at the Al-Madinah free school in Derby had been forced to wear headscarves in line with strict Islamic practices.

There have also been concerns that girls at other Islamic schools are being required to wear full veils as well as questions over segregation in classes.

Capita argued that the exclusion of women could be legally justified but the advert was later withdrawn after a warning from the Department for Education over the need to comply with equality law.

The National Secular Society said it had been alerted to the advertisement by a female science teacher who had been looking for work in the Leicester area.

Among requirements listed for the job are a good knowledge of the national curriculum and an ability to plan "innovative and engaging lessons".

The advert describes the school simply as an Islamic School for Boys in Leicester without specifying which school.

Capita refused to confirm the name of the school claiming it was to "protect their confidentiality".

But it follows a similar advertisement placed by the Madani Boys School in Leicester last month for the post of "Male Technician" in the IT department.

Capita insisted that the male-only requirement was legal under the Equality Act, which allows employers an opt-out from sex discrimination rules in specific circumstances.

"These provisions are referred to as occupational requirements and they create exceptions that allow an employer to act in a way that would otherwise be discriminatory," a spokeswoman said.

"Capita Education Resourcing is committed to equal opportunities both as an employer, and as an agency for the recruitment and placement of educational staff."

But a spokeswoman for the Department for Education said: "Schools must comply with equality law.

"We asked Leicester City Council to raise this with the school and the advert has now been withdrawn."

Stephen Evans, campaigns manager at the NSS said: "Being male isn't a genuine occupational requirement for a science teacher in a state school. Any attempt to try and make it so is unjustifiable.

"The Government's encouragement of schools run by religious groups will bring with it increasing demands for religious customs and practices to be accommodated within our education system.

"If religious demands to discriminate and segregate along gender lines are accommodated, teachers of the 'wrong sex' will be disadvantaged and children in such schools are unlikely to be adequately prepared for life as equal citizens in a liberal democracy – which should be one of the fundamental aims of education policy.

"For some religious groups, it is clear that the primary goal of state education should be to instill parents' religious beliefs in children.

"Equality must not be sacrificed in the rush to satisfy their demands."

There is something to be said for the arrogance of the people in charge of these schools. They really are under the impression that their customs override ours once they have installed themselves in our country; such has been the deleterious effect of political correctness & its attendant dogma of cultural relativism. The government needs to come down hard on this kind of thing, as it did not in this case, as people are watching, as reported by the same paper today:

Stop being squeamish Michael Gove: you must take on the Muslim school banning women science teachers

The Education Secretary has left it to his officials to deal with a Muslim school who ruled out female applicants for a teaching post, but we need him to bravely take a stand on this important issue, argues Cathy Newman

Michael Gove, the Education Secretary, must be breathing a sigh of relief that, after a little quiet pressure from his officials, an Islamic school in Leicester has withdrawn a job advert which made clear women need not apply.

Politicians have traditionally been reluctant to intervene in matters of faith, wary of being seen to meddle in deeply-held personal beliefs. But this is surely one area where personal and public interests collide, and the sooner ministers stop being squeamish about it the better.

We don't know a lot about the school in question. The advert described it as an Islamic School for Boys in Leicester, but we don't know, for example, how much public money it draws on.

In the recent furore over segregation on university campuses, it was imperative on the Government to act to prevent men and women being separated during religious meetings because universities are funded by the state, and therefore the laws of the land must apply. That's equality laws in case you're wondering.

That appears to be what has happened in this case. The Education Department called Leicester council to remind them that schools must comply with equality law, and the advert was promptly withdrawn. Even so, the outsourcing company which published the ad insisted it was legal under the Equality Act, which allows employers to opt-out from sex discrimination rules in certain circumstances.

Where the law is open to interpretation, we rely on politicians for clarification. But when it comes to religion, they've been nervous about doing so in the past.

They shouldn't be. Believers' religious rights and freedoms should be respected, of course, but there are limits. Those limits were defined a year ago by the European Court of Human Rights, which effectively ruled that equality laws should trump personal religious beliefs in the case of three appeals launched by British Christians.

Race, faith or gender should not be allowed to divide us.

So it's to the Education Secretary Michael Gove's credit that he spoke out forcefully a few months ago when university bosses endorsed the segregation of audiences at debates organised by hard-line Islamic speakers. Universities UK was, he said, "pandering to extremism" and it was "a disgrace".

Also last year, David Cameron said he would "back up" schools and courts asking people to remove Muslim veils, though he didn't believe the niqab should be banned in all public places.

Previously, though, politicians have got into terrible trouble for straying into this area, and have subsequently fought shy of doing so.

When the former Home Secretary Jack Straw said he'd rather veils weren't worn at all, Oliver Letwin, now a Cabinet Office minister, said it would be a "dangerous doctrine" to start telling people how to dress, even though that wasn't quite what Mr Straw was doing. George Galloway called on Mr Straw to resign.

At time of writing, Mr Gove has left it to his officials to deal with the Leicester school issue, and there has been very little political noise about it. But perhaps the Education Secretary should feel free to make a fuss himself.

The journalist and author Yasmin Alibhai-Brown has a few pointers about what he might say. "Centuries back only men taught in boys' schools and created barbarians. Why should boys not have powerful women instructing them?" she told me.

She firmly believes politicians are wary of getting involved because "everybody tries not to make trouble". Are we somehow embarrassed about tackling the clash between religious and other freedoms? "Yes, and becoming more and more so, because faith is becoming overly influential in schools in particular," she says.

As the minister in charge, Mr Gove needs to do what he's done before, and take a stand.

Industrial Relations: Saudi Style.

"Surely the vilest of animals in Allah's sight are those who disbelieve, then they would not believe." So says the Koran, in verse 8:55 &, given that Muslims believe that this is dictated by the creator if the universe, this doesn't say much for equality in regions where Muslims make up the majority. There is also verse 98:6, "Surely those who disbelieve from among the followers of the Book & the polytheists shall be in the fire of hell, abiding therein; they are the worst of men."

This would explain why foreign workers have such a hard time of it in Saudi Arabia. That country only abolished slavery in 1962 & they still look upon guest workers in a similar way. Nothing gets so bad as burying five Indian workers alive, as has happened in the eastern town of Qatif, as reported by Arab News yesterday (hat-tip to Tarek Fatah @TarekFatah):

'We buried five workers alive'

Three men confessed in the Qatif General Court on Wednesday to torturing five Asian workers for hours and then burying them alive, according to local media.

The decomposing bodies of the five Asian workers, believed to be Indian nationals, were found on a farm in Safwa, Qatif, earlier this month. They were killed in 2010.

The Eastern Province police have arrested 25 people in connection with the killing of the five Asian workers, a source said on Wednesday.

The suspects include expatriates and citizens. They are being held at Safwa police station.

One man, describing events four years ago, said he was driving around with a friend using drugs and alcohol when he received a call from another friend at around 10 p.m. who asked to see him immediately at a farm.

"We had alcohol with us when we arrived at the farm," he said.

"We saw five workers with their hands tied in the seating area. When the friend with me asked why they were tied, our host said that one of them had sexually harassed his sponsor's daughter and other women," the man told the court.

"I saw that the five Indian workers were tied and unconscious, just before we went to another room to drink alcohol and smoke hashish. While we were drinking, I heard one of them screaming so I went out and slapped him in the face," he said.

"Later the friend who came with me left the room with a stick and hit the worker until he bled. We then took them all into another room," he said.

"The three of us continued beating the workers on different parts of their bodies while continuing to drink and smoke," the man said.

"We kept drinking, smoking and beating them," he said.

"Our host suggested we bury them alive in a hole behind the entrance gate of the farm," he said.

"We tied them again with ropes and adhesive tape so they could not move," he said.

The man said their host brought his pickup truck and the three loaded the workers onto it. They then dumped them into a 2.5-meter-deep hole, he said.

"We buried them alive with all their identity cards. At the time for the dawn prayer my friend and I left the farm, while our host remained there alone."

Police have concluded that the five people were killed in 2010, the source said.

The discovery of the human remains happened by chance. A man, Ali Habib, who had rented the land from its elderly woman owner, was clearing it to start farming when he made the grisly discovery. The woman had rented the land to another person before Habib.

Investigators then found an engraved gold ring and residence cards that helped them to identify some of the victims and several suspects.

The decomposed bodies were found with ropes around their arms and legs and their mouths filled with cotton and covered with duct tape.

Habib, who rented the 20,000-square-meter farm east of Safwa two years ago, said it was deserted and contained a lot of waste. He had first dug up a human thighbone, and eventually found the first body after digging further.

Habib initially thought the remains were those of a dead animal, but discovered undergarments next to the body.

Air Campaign against Taliban Continues in Pakistan.

Though it was a long time in coming, Pakistan's attempt at exterminating the Taliban continues, with helicopter gunships taking out Taliban camps in Waziristan, as reported by The Express Tribune today:

Gunship helicopters shell militant hideouts in South Waziristan

Gunship helicopters shelled militant hideouts in South Waziristan, Express News reported on Thursday.

It was not known as yet how many militants were killed or wounded in the aerial strike.

This attack on hideouts of insurgents is the fifth in a series of airstrikes.

Previous bombings

At least 30 militants perished as warplanes pound their hideouts on February 25 in the South and North Waziristan, according to military officials. The airstrikes mainly took place in Datta Khel and Shawal areas of North Waziristan where militant training facilities and compounds are said to be located.

On February 23, airstrikes were carried out in the remote Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency in which security forces killing at least 38 militants, including key commanders. Six hideouts were also destroyed, they had added.

Just a day earlier, on February 22, security forces had carried out shelling on militant hideouts in Thall sub-district of Hangu, killing at least nine insurgents.

On February 19, at least 30 suspected insurgents were killed and several others got injured as military jets and gunships had bombed their hideouts in the North Waziristan and Khyber agencies.

Wrong Kind of Islam Kills at Least 21 in Baghdad.

Is there a right kind of Islam? Verse 2:191 of the Koran says: "And kill them wherever you find & catch them. Drive them out from where they have turned you out; for Fitna is worse than slaughter." 'Fitna' can mean any sort of strife. For Sunnis, that means Shi'ites & vice versa. This is why they have been slaughtering each other for almost as long as Islam has existed. At least 21 have been killed in explosions in the Shi'ites neighbourhoods of Baghdad, today, as reported by The Daily Star:

Officials: Bombings kills at least 21 in Iraq

Authorities in Iraq say at least 21 people have been killed in bombings around the capital, Baghdad.

Officials say the deadliest blast happened Thursday at a secondhand motorcycle market in Baghdad's sprawling eastern Sadr City district. They say the bomb appears to have been placed on a motorcycle at the market.

Officials say the blast killed 12 people and wounded at least 25.

Also in Sadr City, officials say a bomb attached to a minibus exploded, killing five civilians and wounding 14. Meanwhile, officials say another bomb on a minibus killed four and wounded 11 in the northern Shaab neighborhood.

A police officer and two medical officials confirmed casualty figures from the attacks. They spoke on condition of anonymity as they weren't authorized to speak to journalists.

Woolwich Jihad Killers Gaoled.

As expected, the savages who made the mistake of converting to the idiotic & barbaric doctrine of Islam &, as a result, thought it godly to attack a native Englishman in the street & attempt to behead him, have received long prison sentences at the Old Bailey today (one a full life term), as reported by the BBC (hat-tip to QueeniesSoapbox @QueenLareefer1):

Lee Rigby murder: Adebolajo and Adebowale jailed

Michael Adebolajo has been given a whole-life term and Michael Adebowale has been jailed for a minimum of 45 years for murdering Fusilier Lee Rigby.

Adebolajo, 29, and Adebowale, 22, drove into Fusilier Rigby with a car before hacking him to death in Woolwich, south-east London, in May last year.

The judge, Mr Justice Sweeney, said Adebolajo's was one of those "rare cases" warranting a whole-life term.

The pair were absent during sentencing after a fracas in the dock.

As Mr Justice Sweeney began to sentence the men they started shouting and scuffling with court security guards. They had to be forced to the ground and were removed from court.

Fusilier Rigby's family sobbed as Adebolajo shouted "Allahu Akbar", and Adebowale called out "that's a lie" as the judge told them their extremist views were "a betrayal of Islam".

One relative needed medical treatment after the outbursts. The judge later apologised for the fact that the family had to witness what happened in the dock.

Sentencing the killers in their absence, the judge said they had been convicted on "overwhelming" evidence of the "barbaric" murder of Fusilier Rigby.

The British Muslim converts had "butchered" the 25-year-old soldier, he said.

Adebolajo was the leader of the "joint enterprise", the judge said, but Adebowale played his part "enthusiastically".

Mr Justice Sweeney said the pair carried out the murder "in a way that would generate maximum media coverage".

"He had done absolutely nothing to deserve what you did to him", the judge said. The pair created "a bloodbath", he went on.

"You both gloried in what you had done", said the judge.

"Your sickening and pitiful conduct was in stark contrast to the women at the scene who tended to Lee Rigby's body and challenged what you had done."

Speaking outside court, Det Insp Pete Sparks, police liaison officer for Fusilier Rigby's family, read a short statement on behalf of the family saying "no other sentence would have been acceptable".

"We feel satisfied that justice has been served for Lee", the statement said.

Sue Hemming, head of special crime and counter terrorism at the Crown Prosecution Service, said Adebolajo and Adebowale had "revelled in one of the most appalling terrorist murders I have seen".

"Not only was the attack brutal and calculated; it was also designed to advance extremist views", she said.

Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Cressida Dick said the sentences reflected the "true horror" of Fusilier Rigby's murder.

Earlier, Fusilier Rigby's wife Rebecca said her young child would grow up and see images "no son should have to endure".

Her statement was one of those from Fusilier Rigby's family, read out by prosecutor Richard Whittam QC.

Mrs Rigby said she had accepted her husband's life would be at risk when he was deployed to Afghanistan, but not when he was in the UK.

She said: "When you wave someone off you accept that there is a chance you will never see them again. You do not expect to see this on the streets of the UK."

The court also heard part of a statement from the soldier's stepfather, Ian Rigby.

He said: "After all he'd been through in Afghanistan, all Lee was doing was walking through London. After seeing the television, you just can't comprehend it."

Adebolajo and Adebowale faced whole-life jail terms after a Court of Appeal ruling last week upheld judges' right to jail the most serious offenders in England and Wales for the rest of their lives.

However, counsel for Adebolajo, David Gottlieb, had warned an indeterminate sentence would "create a martyr".

Mr Gottlieb said Adebolajo was "not so depraved or wicked that he is incapable of redemption", saying the murder "shares the characteristics of a religiously aggravated crime".

He said that Adebolajo intended to die and still believed he should be put to death.

Adebolajo had claimed he was a "soldier of Allah" and the killing was an act of war.

However, Mr Justice Sweeney rejected his mitigation, saying Adebolajo has "no real prospect of rehabilitation".

Counsel for Michael Adebowale, Abbas Lakha QC, told the court the killing was "horrific" but was not a case "where the offending is so exceptionally high that Mr Adebowale must be kept in prison for his life".

He said: "The right and proper sentence is one which does leave open the possibility of release in the future. Any other sentence would be inhuman."

Addressing Adebowale, the judge said: "I am persuaded that the combination of your lesser role, your age and your pre‐existing and continuing mental condition mean that it is not appropriate in your case to impose a whole-life term."

Fusilier Rigby, from Middleton, Greater Manchester, was murdered as he returned to his barracks in Woolwich, south-east London on 22 May 2013. He died of multiple cut and stab wounds.

Arrests

Adebolajo and Adebowale drove into Fusilier Rigby at 30 to 40mph, before dragging him into the road and attacking him with knives and attempting to decapitate him with a meat cleaver.

Outside court, three people were arrested as far-right protesters gathered while the pair were being sentenced.

Supporters of the British National Party and the English Defence League gathered around makeshift gallows constructed in the street and held placards calling for the capital punishment to be restored.

Protestors cheered when the sentences were announced.

A City of London Police spokesman said two men were arrested, one on suspicion of actual bodily harm and one for affray.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

Even at a time such as this, the judge felt he had a duty to the multicultural ethic & tell the court that this crime was a betrayal of Islam, which it clearly is not. There is more of him making nice with the Muslim community in the full transcript of his remarks from Court News (hat-tip to Ivan Humble @NewDayStarts):

Michael Adebolajo (also known as Mujaahid Abu Hamza) and Michael Adebowale (also known as Ismail Ibn Abdullah) you have both been convicted, on overwhelming evidence, of the barbaric murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby in Artillery Place in Woolwich in the early afternoon of Wednesday 22 May last year.

You are British citizens, aged 29 and 22 respectively. Adebolajo you are married with four step children and two children of your own

Having presided over your trial I am sure of the following facts. You each converted to Islam some years ago. Thereafter you were radicalised and each became an extremist – espousing a cause and views which, as has been said elsewhere, are a betrayal of Islam and of the peaceful Muslim communities who give so much to our country.

You decided, between you, and in order to advance your extremist cause, to murder a soldier in public in broad daylight and to do so in a way that would generate maximum media coverage, including getting yourselves killed by armed officers who would be bound to attend the scene in the aftermath of the murder – thereby expecting that you would become martyrs and each gain a place in paradise.

The planning took place over a period of time. You Adebolajo acquired an old handgun which, although it did not work, was to be used at the scene to keep the public at bay and to threaten the armed officers with when they arrived.

The day before the murder you Adebolajo bought five knives and a knife sharpener – which you used to sharpen some of the knives in preparation for their use in the murder. On the day of the murder the two of you met up some hours in advance.

Eventually Adebolajo drove you both to Woolwich in his car, where you parked up in Wellington Street and waited to spot a soldier to murder. You had with you a total of eight knives and the gun.

It was whilst you were waiting that Lee Rigby walked past. He was instantly recognisable as being a soldier as he was wearing a "Help for Heroes" top and carrying his Army day sack. He was 25 years old, had joined the army in 2006, and amongst other postings had seen active service in Afghanistan in 2009. An outgoing and popular personality, he was by the time you saw him in a recruiting post dealing with young people and involved in other duties at his Regimental HQ at the Tower of London. Indeed, he was on his way from his HQ to the Woolwich Barracks when you saw him. He had done absolutely nothing to deserve what you went on to do to him.

You stalked him in the car as he walked along Wellington Street, crossed the South Circular Road and went into Artillery Place where he crossed the road in front of you. Seizing your opportunity Adebolajo, and once he was no longer looking in your direction, you accelerated hard to 30-40 mph and ran him down from behind. The impact carried him up onto the bonnet of the car breaking five vertebrae in his back and five ribs.

The speed of the car was such that it carried up onto the pavement and crashed into the support of a road sign and stopped, depositing Lee Rigby in the area between the front of the car and an adjacent wall. He was unconscious and certainly unable to defend himself.

You both exited the car armed with knives and over a period of around 2-3 minutes you butchered Lee Rigby – going, as you were well aware, far beyond what was needed to murder him. You Adebolajo concentrated on his neck – hacking at it repeatedly with first a substantial cleaver type knife and then another knife, all in an attempt to decapitate him for maximum horrific effect. In the end you failed but in the process you caused horrendous injuries as shown in the materials before the court.

You Adebowale concentrated on Lee Rigby's torso stabbing him a number of times in the chest in frenzied fashion and with severe force. It is no exaggeration to say that what the two of you did resulted in a blood bath. Aspects of all this were seen, as they were intended to be, by members of the public.

Once you had finished, and again in order to achieve maximum effect, you then carried and dragged Lee Rigby's body into the road in Artillery Place and dumped it there – thus eventually bringing the traffic to a halt. In the thirteen minutes that passed between then and the arrival of the armed officers, the number of members of the public at the scene grew. You both gloried in what you had done. Each of you had the gun at one point or another and it was used to warn off any male member of the public who looked as though he might intervene.

Those who saw the gun believed that it was real and loaded. You Adebolajo handed out a pre-prepared written statement seeking to justify your joint cause and actions. In addition, carrying the bloodied cleaver in your equally bloody hands, and knowing that you were being filmed, you made a political statement. Images of that filmed statement were broadcast around the world. The effect of the two statements was to seek to justify your joint actions as being retaliation for deaths in Muslim lands, and to incite the removal of the Government in this country.

Your sickening and pitiless conduct was in stark contrast to the compassion and bravery shown by the various women at the scene who tended to Lee Rigby's body and who challenged what you had done and said.

The armed police officers arrived in a marked police vehicle. At that time, you Adebolajo were still armed with the cleaver and the other knife, and you Adebowale (by agreement between the two of you) were armed with the gun and a knife. You Adebolajo sprinted towards the officers jettisoning the knife and carrying the cleaver above your head as if intent on attacking one or more of them, whilst you Adebowale went down the adjacent pavement and pointed the gun at the officers. The officers shot you both. They were clearly entitled to do so. It is thanks to their professionalism, including the speed with which the rendered First Aid, that neither of you was killed – especially in your case Adebowale, given that you pointed the gun at them again even after you had been shot for the first time.

As is clear from their moving Victim Personal Statements, and unsurprisingly, the consequences of the murder, its brutality and the publicity, have had a severe and lasting impact on those close to Lee Rigby. You Adebolajo were the leader of this joint enterprise - albeit that Adebowale played his part enthusiastically. It was you who provided much, if not all, of the equipment and the car, and you were the mouthpiece on the day. That said, neither of you, I am sure, has any real insight into the enormity of what you did, nor any genuine remorse for it either – only regret that you did not succeed in your plan to be shot dead, which has resulted in you being brought to justice before the courts.

Equally you, Adebolajo, who I have observed at length, have (I am sure) no real prospect of rehabilitation.

Sentence for murder is mandatory – it must be one of life imprisonment. But I must also identify the minimum term that you must serve.

The prosecution assert that, in each of your cases, this was (in the terms of paragraph 4(c) of Schedule 21 to the Criminal Justice Act 2003) a murder done for the purpose of advancing a political, religious, racial or ideological cause.

The prosecution equally assert that, in each of your cases, and in accordance with the provisions of the Counter Terrorism Act 2008, this was a murder with a terrorist connection. Hence the prosecution submit that this is an offence the seriousness of which is exceptionally high, and that thus my starting point should be a whole life term. The prosecution also submit, obviously correctly, that in the light of the recent decision of the Court of Appeal in Attorney General’s Reference (No.69 of 2013) [2014] EWCA Crim 188 it is open to me to go on to impose a whole life term in relation to each defendant. They draw my attention, in particular, to the public nature of what happened, to the fact that there was a significant degree of planning or premeditation, that Lee Rigby was providing a public service or performing a public duty, and to the treatment of his body.

As to the starting point it is submitted, amongst other things, on your behalf Adebolajo that I should not be bound by the reasons that you yourself have given for your actions, but should regard this offence as being one motivated by simple religious hatred actions, or the equivalent of the murder of a police officer, and thus the equivalent of an offence requiring a starting point of less than a whole life term. It is urged, although it is accepted that there is not much evidence to support it, that you are someone who can be rehabilitated in time.

As I have already indicated, I am sure that is wrong. It is urged that I should be flexible in my approach to the provisions of Schedule 21 – which I am. It is further submitted that it is of significance that there is no evidence that you were part of a wider group, that there was no intention to physically harm more than one victim who was chosen purely at random because of his profession, and that there is no evidence that the plot was part of a wider network or support group, and that thus this is not a case to take the sentence of last resort as my starting point.

Similar points are urged in relation to you, Adebowale, together with other points which in my judgment come more appropriately into consideration in deciding what the appropriate actual sentence is in your case. I am sure that this was (in the terms of paragraph 4(c) of Schedule 21 to the Criminal Justice Act 2003) a murder done for the purpose of advancing a political, religious, racial or ideological cause. I am equally sure that, in each of your cases, and in accordance with the provisions of the Counter Terrorism Act 2008, this was a murder with a terrorist connection – though I am careful to avoid double counting in that regard.

I equally have no that this is an offence the seriousness of which is, in fact, exceptionally high, and thus my starting point in relation to it should be a whole life term. Whilst I agree with Mr Lakha that there are three aggravating features, namely a significant degree of planning and premeditation and planning, the fact that the victim was performing a public duty, and the way that the body was treated, I have included all of these in the overall facts that I have found.

I must however go on to consider my actual sentence. In your case Adebolajo there is no mitigation, and whilst to state the obvious, this is not a case of mass or repeated murder it is nevertheless one of those rare cases where not only is the seriousness exceptionally high but the requirements of just punishment and retribution make such an order the just penalty. Accordingly in your case I propose to impose a whole life term.

In your case Adebowale I am persuaded that the combination of your lesser role, your age and your pre-existing and continuing mental condition mean that it is not appropriate in your case to impose a whole life term. Nevertheless in your case there must still be a very substantial minimum term. The term that I propose to impose is one of 45 years less 272 days spent on remand.

Michael Adebolajo I sentence you to life imprisonment with a whole life order. Michael Adebowale I sentence you to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 45 years less 272 days spent on remand. In both your cases I make a Notification Order for the maximum of 30 years. In each of your cases there will be an appropriate victim surcharge.

Pop Star Provides One more Excuse for the Great Muslim Grievance Mill.

Do you remember how Muslims, dismayed at how their religion was being misused to incite violence, organised the online petition to stop the Muslim Brotherhood murdering Copts in Egypt? Can you recall the vehement opposition, from the Muslim community, that has always accompanied the entry into our country of Saudi hate preachers? No, me neither.

People seem to think that the Muslim community in general feels unable to speak out against the way their religion is being 'hijacked' by haters, which is why one never hears of any mass movement opposing the likes of Anjem Choudary or Haitham al-Haddad. The implication being that the majority of Muslims are quietly on the side of secular, democratic Western society.

However, they're never backward in coming forwards when it comes to something they really do care about. This time it's the sight of an amulet with 'Allah' on it getting burned up in some daft music video, which has garnered some 50000 (that's not a typo, it's fifty thousand) signatures in an online petition to get the video taken down. So it's nice to know they've got their priorities right.

And guess in which country this petition was started & which provided most of the signatures? To give you a clue, it's the one in which not a single publication reprinted the Danish cartoons. Yes, that's right, it's Blighty that has served as the source of this pathetic attempt at censorship, as reported by The Independent today:

Katy Perry causes offence by burning 'Allah' pendant in 'Dark Horse' music video

In the latest 'racist music video' accusation, Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" has sparked an online petition demanding it be pulled from YouTube, with some Muslims claiming it is blasphemous.

More than 50,000 Muslims have pledged their support for the video to be removed because of an offending scene, which shows an Islamic necklace burned by lightning shot from Perry's fingers.

Shazad Iqbal of Bradford, West Yorkshire, who started the Change.org petition, said the burning of the pendant with the Arabic word for God was "blasphemous" and distasteful.

"At 01.15 into the video 'Dark Horse', a man is shown being burned, whilst wearing a pendant (also burned) forming the word 'Allah', which is the Arabic word for God," Iqbal wrote.

"Such goes to show, that blasphemy is clearly conveyed in the video, since Katy Perry (who appears to be representing an opposition of God) engulfs the believer and the word God in flames."

He added: "Using the name of God in an irrelevant and distasteful manner would be considered inappropriate by any religion."

Most signatures so far have come from Britain, but people from Muslim countries such as Pakistan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have also entered into the debate.

"Absolutely disgusted at the music industry for allowing this to happen," wrote Bilal Khan from Birmingham. "Music should be about spreading love not hate."

Faeezah Shaik from South Africa also commented: "Artists should consider the impact their 'art' would have on society and not just go ahead and do things for the sake of being controversial."

Perry is also seen pole-dancing with bizarre cat-human bodyguards in her latest video, which has amassed over 30 million views.

The US pop star grew up in a devout Christian home as both her parents were traveling Pentecostal ministers. She started her career singing Christian Gospel music before deciding to change track.

Perry recently told Marie Claire that she now has no identification with any religion or "old man sitting on a throne" but still feels "a deep connection with God".

It is not the first time Perry has been criticised for her portrayal of other cultures. She received a strong backlash for her 'Japanese' performance of "Unconditionally" at the American Music Awards last November.

Other singers to be accused of cultural insensitivity include Lily Allen, whose video "Hard Out Here" was labelled racist because of the twerking black backing dancers

Rihanna was also ordered to leave an Abu Dhabi mosque last year after compromising the "sanctity of the site" by posing for a photoshoot.

Perry seems to have no qualms about her controversial behaviour, as she recently attended Miley Cyrus' Bangerz tour and enjoyed a front row kiss with the "Wrecking Ball" singer.

Feel the Love: Sunni on Shi'ite Jihad Kills 32 in Iraq.

"And kill them wherever you find & catch them. Drive them out from where they have turned you out; for Fitna is worse than slaughter." So says Allah, in his wondrous & perfect book, the Koran, in verse 2:191. 'Fitna' means trouble, be it civil war, blasphemy, heresy or infidels holding power over Muslims. With the Sunni/Shi'ite contretemps, heresy is the type of fitna we have, & have had, ever since the schismatic war nearly 14 centuries ago.

Sunnis & Shi'ites have been at each other's throats ever since then, & only on Sunday Sunnis murdered 32 Shi'ites, as reported by Al Arabiya:

Governor survives blasts as Iraq violence kills 32

Provincial governor Atheel al-Nujaifi, a brother of Iraq's parliament speaker, on Monday survived the third attempt on his life this month, as violence killed 32 people, officials said.

Iraq is suffering its worst unrest in years and authorities have so far failed to check daily violence targeting both civilians and security forces.

There have now been at least six attempts to kill Nujaifi in less than a year, showing that even the most senior official in the northern province of Nineveh - one of the most dangerous in Iraq - is vulnerable to attack.

Two roadside bombs exploded near Nujaifi's convoy in Nineveh's capital Mosul, wounding two provincial councillors but leaving the governor unharmed, a police major and a hospital employee said.

Nujaifi, brother of parliament speaker Osama al-Nujaifi, is in his second term as governor of Nineveh, where Sunni militants have a major presence and carry out near-daily attacks.

Militants are also said to extort money from business owners in Mosul, helping to fund their activities in Iraq and neighbouring Syria.

Attacks killed three civilians and two army officers in Nineveh on Monday, while 11 militants died during an assault on an army position in the province.

Continued violence

Gunmen shot dead a woman near her home in Baghdad, while one person was killed by a magnetic "sticky bomb" on a vehicle in Taji, north of the capital.

And in Ramadi, a city west of Baghdad where militants have controlled territory since early last month, shelling killed a policeman and wounded three people.

Anti-government fighters also control all of Fallujah, east of Ramadi and just a short drive from Baghdad.

The defence ministry said that security forces killed 13 militants on Monday in Anbar province, where both Ramadi and Fallujah are located.

Iraq has been hit by a year-long surge in violence that has reached levels not seen since 2008, driven by widespread discontent among the Sunni Arab minority and the civil war in Syria.

More than 640 people have been killed in attacks and clashes since the beginning of the month, and over 1,600 since January 1, according to AFP figures based on security and medical sources.

And violence has killed 10 or more people on all but three days so far this month.

Mazel Tov: Israeli Air Force Strikes Hezbollah in Bekaa.

"We shall rouse Our Muslim slaves to shame & ravage you Jews, disfiguring your faces. They will enter the Temple as before & destroy, laying to waste all that they conquer." That charming & tolerant Koranic verse was number 17:7 & remember, the Koran is the absolute & perfect word of Allah, so it must be true.

It is rather a shame that the Israelis do not make more of the hideous, jew-hating nature of Islam to defend themselves in the preposterously biased Western media. It's not as if they'd lose any friends in the Muslim world by so doing, they don't have any. Still, what Israel lacks in PR skills she more than makes up for in military hardware, as a number of Hezbollah goons found out very briefly in the Bekaa Valley & very very finally, as reported by Al Arabiya today:

Netanyahu cites 'security' after Hezbollah raid

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday Israel was doing all that was "necessary" to ensure its security, following reports of an overnight air raid against Hezbollah targets on the Syrian-Lebanese border.

"We are doing everything that is necessary in order to defend the security of Israel," Netanyahu said at a news conference in Jerusalem.

"We will not say what we're doing or what we're not doing" to maintain Israel's security, he said in a cryptic reply to a question on the raid.

Security sources had told Al Arabiya News Channel late Monday that Israeli airstrikes targeted a site belonging to the Shiite Lebanese movement Hezbollah near the Lebanon-Syrian border.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the target was a Hezbollah "missile base." Sources told Al Arabiya that the airstrikes killed a number of Hezbollah members.

Meanwhile, Al Arabiya's correspondent said the Israeli army rejected to give a comment explaining these raids against its arch-enemy, Hezbollah.

The Hezbollah television station al-Manar said there had been "no raid on Lebanese territory," reporting only the "strong presence of enemy planes over the area north of Bekaa" in eastern Lebanon.

Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported that the Israeli warplanes launched two raids targeting al-Nabi Shayth, a village located in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley near the Syria-Lebanon borders.

NNA added that there were also "intensive Israeli flights at very low altitude over the eastern and western mountains chains of Lebanon."

The independent Lebanese news channel MTV described the airstrikes as "mock raids" over Brital, Hor Ti'la, al-Nabi Shayth, al-Khidhar, and Ali al-Nahri; villages located in the bordering Bekaa valley.

Hezbollah bringing Syria missiles?

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told Agence France-Presse the target was a Hezbollah "missile base."

Al Arabiya's correspondent citing unconfirmed reports said Hezbollah's moving convoy was targeted because it tried to bring ballistic missiles from Syria to Lebanon.

Hezbollah has long support the Syrian government in its fight against rebels.

In recent months, several blasts were directed against Hezbollah-controlled areas and convoys in Beirut and the Bekaa valley in eastern Lebanon.

Muslims in Czech Republic Want Censorship.

It really is quite amazing: wherever there is Islam there is hatred, contempt, arrogance, misogyny & warmongering. We in the West are told that this is all our fault, had it not been for Britain's (or France's or Holland's) role in the age of colonialism, or America's role in the Cold War, then it would not be happening. So could these apologists for the poor little trampled-upon Islamists kindly explain why exactly the same thing is happening in the Czech Republic?

We all remember history lessons in which huge tracts of the Levant & North Africa trembled in the shadow of the pitiless Czechs for much if the 19th century & many a Middle East dictatorship was propped up by the Machiavellian Czechoslovaks in their bid to rival NATO, much to the suffering of the native peoples. It won't wash anymore & people are seeing through it. One is able to observe a tiresomely familiar pattern of behaviour from the 2000-strong Muslim community in the Czech Republic in this report from the Prague Post yesterday (hat-tip to The Religion of Peace):

Former Muslim has allegedly stolen documents from Brno mosque

Muslims in the Czech Republic are trying to have the book Islam and Islamism by Lukáš Lhoťan, a former Muslim, now an apostate from Islam, banned, weekly Týden writes today.

Islam and Islamism, released in 2011, describes Czech Muslims' extremism, but representatives of the mosques in Prague and Brno say the book promotes hatred, Týden writes.

The book says Muslims abuse the ideology of multiculturalism to infiltrate Czech schools, and they do not only deliver innocent lectures there but recruit converts and perhaps new jihad fighters.

After spending 12 years among Muslims in Brno, Lhoťan abandoned Islam, Týden writes. Now he has published the documents from the Brno mosque both in his book and on his webpage, it adds.

This is not quite legal, as he had stolen some of the documents, Týden writes.

Vladimír Sáňka, director of the Prague-based Islamic Centre, has filed a criminal complaint against Lhoťan over his promotion of hatred.

"He is a hyperactive idiot, but also an unhappy man. He makes his living from doing harm," Muneeb Hassan Alrawi, head of the Muslim community in Brno, is quoted as saying. Alrawi knows Lhoťan personally, Týden writes.

"The police investigation will only provide publicity to him. He desires nothing but this," Alrawi added.

Lhoťan has already been investigated by the police for several hours, Týden writes.

He said he was surprised at the complaint consisting of tens of pages, he adds.

Týden writes the objective of the criminal complaint is apparent: It wants to prevent Lhoťan from disseminating his view of Islam. According to Týden, the book describes extremist tendencies inside the Czech Muslim community and tries to highlight their contempt for democracy, women's rights and justification of suicide bombers.

Lhoťan writes Muslim institutions are now headed by Islamists who dominate the whole Islamic community, according to extremism expert Miroslav Mareš from Masaryk University in Brno.

Many of Lhoťan's statements, including that Czech followers of the Quran do not do anything without a go-ahead from Saudi Arabia, are strongly denied by Alrawi.

"This is slander," he told the weekly.

Lhoťan alleges that Czech mosques have depended on Saudi money.

"These are sums between 6,000 to 40,000 dollars. I can prove this without any problems, and I will do so," Lhoťan is quoted as saying.

It is just Lhoťan who has the archive of the Brno Muslim community, Týden writes, and Lhoťan has not denied his collection of the information.

Alrawi has reported this to the police as a case of theft, Týden writes.

According to the 2011 census, there are some 2,000 Muslims in the Czech Republic, whose population is around 10.5 million.

The Obliteration of a Nation Continues as Baghdad is Bigged-Up in History Lessons.

In my salad days I made a lot of mistakes. Chief among these was associating with the Socialist Workers' Party or, as least, their students' society. Of the many items of piffle one had to listen to, & convince oneself of its rationality, was the contention that nationality doesn't exist. That's right, it's all a social construct, an invention.

Admitting that you could recognise an Italian by his shouting & waving his arms around over minor details was tantamount to a heresy. In fact, so determined are the left in general to destroy the idea of nationality, that they are intent on destroying nations. Ours, in particular.

The admission by Peter Mandelson that the last Labour government got two million people to migrate to this overcrowded island, not just let them in when they happened to show up, but actively recruited for migrants at a time of full employment, speaks volumes about what they intend for the future of English people in, what had been, their own country.

And look where the traitors rustled up their two million travellers: Afghanistan & Somalia. Yes, when it comes to destroying the fabric of a nation, there's nothing quite like Muslims.

Though Labour may be in opposition for now (they plan to fund state Muslim schools when they come back), their fellow travellers have been busy pushing any vestige of our national identity aside in the classroom & shoving in Islamic propaganda where it doesn't belong. It turns out that our finest hour is no longer a required topic in secondary school history but the rise of Islam is.

Not the brutal truth of conquest, slaughter & slavery that we know to be the sanguinary reality, but the myth of the 'Golden Age' of Baghdad, when the Caliphate preserved 20% of Western writings & burned the other 80%, for which our cultural commentators fawn over the mullahs & taqiyya merchants so obsequiously. This, from The Daily Express today:

Fury as rise of Islam is seen as teaching priority over World War One and Two in schools

BRITONS of all ages regard changes to the teaching of history as a massive mistake and an insult to the soldiers who died fighting for their country.

As the centenary of the First World War approaches, a new poll shows there is outrage that defining moments and figures in British history can be relegated below the rise of Islam and civilisations of West Africa and South America.

Eight out of 10 Britons oppose moves allowing schools to stop teaching about Britain's role in the World Wars to concentrate on "world history". Fewer than one in 10 thinks schools should be allowed to duck lessons on the sacrifices of millions of soldiers.

An Ipsos Mori poll found 82 per cent want the First World War to be taught, while 84 per cent believe the Second World War should be compulsory.

In the survey of 973 Britons aged 15 or over, only seven per cent thought it right not to make the two conflicts required topics. The new curriculum begins in September, weeks after the centenary commemoration starts.

Under it, teachers are only compelled to teach one of three history subjects – Benin in West Africa, early Islamic civilisation in Baghdad or the history of the Mayans in South America.

Chris McGovern, chairman of the Campaign for Real Education, which commissioned the poll, said: "We have a responsibility to ensure that those who gave their lives in the World Wars are remembered.

"The decision about whether or not to teach about the two World Wars should not be left to the whim of individual teachers."

He added: "There is a lot of history to cover. Whatever is not compulsory may be, at best, skimped over. It may be a toss-up between the suffragettes, World War One, or the history of the Labour party. It may come down to imagining what it was like in the trenches and writing a letter home about how awful it was.

"I am not saying we should not teach about West African history but we should not be giving World War One lower status."

The two wars and Winston Churchill, once cornerstones of teaching, are relegated to "examples (non-statutory)" that teachers "could include" in lessons.

A Department for Education spokesman said: "The new curriculum lays down clearly that all pupils must be taught about the challenges Britain faced in the 20th century.

"No responsible teacher could do that without mentioning the World Wars or Churchill.

"By stripping out unnecessary guidelines we will allow teachers to deal with subjects like the trenches, the Battle of Britain and Churchill and with more rigour. The new curriculum is supported by eminent historians."

Boko Haram Raise Aggregate Total on Izghe Raid to 110.

The Muslims invented zero, or claim to have done. Actually, it was the Hindus but never let the facts get in the way of a good supremacist fantasy. This may be why Boko Haram were unhappy with their score of 106 dead infidel when they attacked the harmless village of Izghe last week & came back to raise to a nice round number.

Either that, or it's because the Koran tells them to: "Fight & kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait & ambush them using every stratagem of war." In verse 9:5. Who can tell? This, from the BBC yesterday:

Nigeria Boko Haram crisis: Anger over second Izghe raid

A Nigerian senator has expressed outrage over the security forces' failure to prevent a second attack on a town by suspected Islamist militants.

Gunmen believed to be from the Boko Haram group killed several residents and burnt down Izghe over the weekend.

A week earlier, 106 people were killed by gunmen in a raid on Izghe.

Borno state Senator Ali Ndume told the BBC it was clear that a state of emergency imposed by the government to end the insurgency was not working.

More than 500 people had been killed in Borno in the last two months, he said.

'Burnt everything'

Ndume
Jonathan
President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency in three north-eastern states - Borno, Yobe and Adamawa - last year, giving the security forces extra-ordinary powers to fight Boko Haram.

However, soldiers were in a "pathetic situation", and there was no sign of the army having taken extra-ordinary measures to end the violence, Mr Ndume said.

"The Nigerian army can deploy more troops, more equipment and be more committed to the execution of this emergency rule," he told the BBC.

The army had failed to deploy troops to Izghe after the first attack, opening the way for Boko Haram to re-enter the town, Mr Ndume said.

Many people had fled after the first attack, but some elderly residents were still staying there.

A resident in Izghe told the BBC that three women and a man were killed in the raid.

"They [the gunmen] came to the to the town and burnt everything. They burnt all the houses," he said, on condition of anonymity.

The government has repeatedly said it is winning the war against the militants, who are fighting to establish a strict Islamic state across northern Nigeria.

Boko Haram has killed thousands, including many Muslims and Christians, since it began its uprising in 2009.

By Jove, I Think He's Got It!

A British Muslim, Mudar Zahran, has finally admitted that, maybe, there is no such thing as Islamophobia. He has had the guts to say that, incredible as it may sound, the behaviour of some Muslims & the silence of the majority about atrocities & hate has created a real suspicion of Islam, & Muslims in general, in the native British people.

Unfortunately, he does not speculate about the scriptural reasons about these phenomena. It does not occur to him to wonder whether verses in the Koran such as 8:12: 'When your Lord revealed to the angels: "I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads & strike off every fingertip of them."' may lead to violence against non-Muslims.

It is not observed that the majority of Muslims remain silent because verse 5:51 tells them: 'O you who believe! Do not take the Jews & the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; & whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.'

However, don't look a gift-horse in the mouth, this article from the Gatestone Institute yesterday (hat-tip to Jean-Louis Musset @Miligor25) is a start:

Who Is to Blame for "Islamophobia" in the UK?

After the murder of British soldier Lee Rigby by Islamic extremists in London last May, The Guardian reported a surge in the number of anti-Muslim offenses.

Also, last May, a poll by the British research firm, YouGov, showed that nearly two-thirds of Britons believe there will be a "clash of civilizations" between British Muslims and white Britons, and 34% believe that Muslims pose a serious threat to democracy.

As a Muslim living in the UK, I wonder, who is to blame for the increase in anti-Muslim feelings in the U.K.? Or is the problem "Islamophobia"?

If one dispassionately examines facts, it seems possible that if "Islamophobia" exists in the U.K., then perhaps we Muslims are to blame for it.

For a start, let us look at the murder of soldier Lee Rigby, who was butchered in Woolwich, near his army barracks, on May 22, 2013 by two British Muslim converts.

The murderers, Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale were both 29 and born to Christian families. Both are reported by the Daily Mail to have been inspired by the British Muslim cleric Anjem Choudary. Therefore, can we Muslims blame the British public if they fear for their young men and women, and would prefer them not to associate with us and possibly become Islamically radicalized?

Adebolajo
Adebowale
Choudary

Anjem Choudary -- the Muslim cleric who "inspired" Rigby's murderers -- has a lavish history of inciting Islamic fundamentalism and hatred against Britain. He refused, for example, to condemn the July 7, 2005 London bombings and even spoke favorably about the "black flag of Sharia flying over Downing Street [the Prime Ministers' office] by 2020".

In an interview on April 11, 2013 Choudhry said, "As Muslims, we reject democracy, we reject secularism, and freedom, and human rights. We reject all of the things that you espouse as being ideals ... There is nothing called a republic in Islam. When we talk about the sharia, we are talking about only the sharia. We are talking about rejecting the U.N., the IMF, and the World Bank."

So, why then, if Choudhry and other Islamist fundamentalists so oppose the British values of democracy and human rights, do they choose to stay in the UK? No one is keeping them here against their will.

Also, if we Muslims in the UK disagree with what Choudhry and his like-minded associates are saying, why do we never speak out against it? If we are actually opposed these Islamist hate preachers, why are we failing to take a unanimous public stance to disown and isolate them from our community?

The non-Muslims must be also asking themselves the same questions, and logically assuming from our silence that we agree.

The Islamists' damage to the British society does not stop with the hatred they spread, but also extends to exporting terrorism to the rest of the world.

For example, Abu Hamzah Al-Masri, who is now facing terrorism charges in the US after being extradited from the UK, turned a local London mosque into a recruiting ground for Islamic radicals. In the 1990s, Abu Hamzah's followers included the 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui and failed "shoe bomber" Richard Reid, both now serving life sentences in the U.S.

Al-Masri
Moussaoui
Reid

As a sidebar, on May 28, 2009, three of Abu Hamza's sons and his stepson were sentenced to imprisonment by a British court for a two-year fraud involving stolen cars. And in July 2010, another of Abu Hamza's sons was sentenced to twelve months prison after pleading guilty to one count of violent disorder at anti-Israel protests in January 2009. In 2012, another one of Abu Hamza's sons was convicted of armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm with intent to commit an offense.

A phobia, by definition, is an irrational fear: a fear of something that is not real -- such as being afraid that there are snakes in the next room. But if you look at the London tube bombings; the death threats against a British schoolteacher whose kindergartners innocently decided to name a teddy bear Mohammed; the recent the murder and attempted decapitation of Lee Rigby, not to mention events abroad, such as two attacks on the World Trade Center, the Madrid train bombings the attempted attacks by the Underwear Bomber, the Shoe Bomber, the Times Square Bomber; the murders of Theo van Gogh, Ilan Halimi, Nick Berg, Daniel Pearl; Jews in Toulouse, Mumbai and Buenos Aires; the victims of US Army Major Nidal Hassan; assaults on Kurt Westergaard, and Lars Hedegaard, and the threats to Salman Rushdie, Geert Wilders and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, among other episodes -- these events are all too real, so how can we Muslims in the UK honestly expect people not to be "Islamophobic"? How can we blame the British society for being ill-disposed when some of their Islamic "leaders" are breeding both terrorists and criminals?

There also seems to be a pattern now of Muslim men "grooming" white underage non-Muslim girls into sex rings. For example: in May 2012, nine Muslim men were convicted of being part of a child sexual exploitation ring involving vulnerable white girls. Eight of the men were of British Pakistani origin and one was an Afghan; all Muslims.

One of the victims told the court "of being raped by two men while she was "so drunk she was vomiting over the side of the bed. She later cried herself to sleep."

Further, in June 2013, seven Muslim men from Oxford were found guilty of grooming underage white girls, aged between 11 and 15, into a sadistic sex ring.

Commenting on the case, Dr. Taj Hargey, the Muslim cleric of the Oxford Islamic Congregation, said, "[R]ace and religion were linked to the recent spate of grooming rings in which Muslim men have targeted under-age white girls." He added that, "Imams promote grooming rings' by encouraging followers to think white women deserve to be 'punished'".

Dr. Hargey also noted that, "all the men [involved in the Oxford sex ring] -- though of different nationalities -- were Muslim and they deliberately targeted vulnerable white girls, whom they appeared to regard as easy meat." Dr. Hargey added that pretending this is not a problem of the Islamic community is "ideological denial."

So, how can we Muslims blame the British public for fearing for their underage girls when Muslim men keep getting arrested and convicted for grooming white girls into sex rings?

As a Muslim living in the UK, I have come to believe that we Muslims are the main source of "Islamophobia" -- by the evil and disturbing acts of some Muslims, and above all by the silence of the majority regarding those acts.

It would appear we have no one to blame but ourselves.
