Shari'ah Censorship in the UK.

When Maajid Nawaz tweeted an innocuous cartoon of Jesus & Mohammed & incurred the wrath of various mediahedin such as Mohammed Ansar & Mohammed Shafiq, I did not comment upon the fiasco for the very simple reason that I could not be bothered. It seemed to me to be the epitome of trivia.

Now, with the interview conducted yesterday by Jon Snow on Channel 4 News with the aforementioned Mr Shafiq, I feel compelled to raise a few points.

First, the interview:

Firstly, it is laughable that Channel 4 lacked the guts to even show the Mohammed part of the cartoon, such cowardice. No wonder Muslims think they can take over the West without a fight.

While squirming like a worm on a hook over the fact that he tried to put Mr Nawaz in mortal danger, Mr Shafiq contends that it is inappropriate for a Lib Dem candidate to offend so many Muslims in such a way. "This is not about freedom of speech – this is about the behaviour of a parliamentary candidate" says Mr Shafiq. It is a pity that Mr Snow did not ask him how appropriate it was for same to set up a Rochdale Online Forum account under a false name in order to smear political colleagues & aggrandise himself, as Mr Shafiq did in 2008.

In a last twist to the tale, the whole thing is starting to look like a publicity stunt after the two issued a joint statement saying nothing very much.

Finally, if Muslims were so offended by the frankly insipid Jesus & Mo cartoon then what, pray, are they going to make of these:
