Birmingham Councillor Kvetches about 'Islamophobia' in Order to Close down Debate.

Leaving aside the obvious non-existence of Islamophobia, the irrational fear of the doctrine responsible for 99% of terrorist violence around the world, & whose adherents openly declare their intent to usurp the liberties won by our ancestors, would it not be more the sinister cowled women stalking the corridors of our institutions & our streets that caused unease in us ignorant kuffar than any open debate about such headbaggery?

Apparently not, as one representative of the people would have it, as reported by the Birmingham Post yesterday:

Councillor fears Birmingham veils debate may trigger 'Islamophobia'

A senior Birmingham councillor has spoken of his fears that debate over Muslim face veils could spark a rise in Islamophobia.

Coun Waseem Zaffer, chairman of Birmingham City Council's social cohesion board, pictured [two paragraphs below, with Jeremy Browne], spoke after Home Office minister Jeremy Browne called for a national debate on whether the state should step in to stop young women having the niqab imposed upon them.

The Liberal Democrat MP said a "genuine debate" was needed on whether young girls could decide to wear the veil without outside pressure.

His intervention followed Birmingham Metropolitan College's decision to drop a ban on full-face veils amid public protests, after the original policy was exclusively revealed by the Mail.

But Coun Zaffer said the issue had been "blown out of proportion".

He said: "Probably 0.1 per cent of people in this country wear a niqab.

"To ask for a national debate on something that affects such a small number of people is ridiculous.

"We need a national debate on the bedroom tax and unemployment.

"I fear this will play right into the hands of the far right and lead to a rise in Islamaphobia [sic]. We need to nip that in the bud."

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said he did not want to see a state ban on religious clothing, although he agreed full veils were "not appropriate" in the classroom or airport security areas.

"To ask for a national debate on something that affects such a small number of people is ridiculous." That's right Waseem, never mind that there are women & girls out there who are facing intimidation & violence from their families for not wearing various articles of social prophylaxis, or that native English women face harassment in areas of their own country where Muslims feel confident enough to enforce their barbaric, seventh century law upon them.

No, the priority is to smear any kafir who has the audacity to question the merest whim of the best of the nations raised up for men (see Koran 3:110) with the accusation of a brand of racism, albeit, a fictitious one.

This, unfortunately, is the depth to which any sensible discourse about Islam will descend when Muslims themselves get involved. Subterfuge, misdirection & self-pity are the order of the day, as they have no cogent answer to any query put to them by the vilest of animals in Allah's sight (see Koran 8:55).
