The Scales Fall from their Eyes.

Hold onto your hats, people, I have grave news. Our betters in Brussels (except when they've moved their offices & staff at our huge expense to Strasbourg) have noticed something a bit off. It turns out that the johnnies in Hezbollah... check over each shoulder... hushed tones... aren't... really... very... nice. I know, I know! Talk about your counterintuitive, I mean, they looked like such a wholesome, clean-cut bunch of lads didn't they? Who'd have thought:

This comes from Al Arabiya today (hat-tip to The Tablet):

EU poised to put Hezbollah's military wing 'on terror list'

The European Union stands poised to put the military wing of Lebanon's Hezbollah on its list of terrorist organizations after a formal request to blacklist the group was filed by a member state Monday, diplomats said.

The request from Britain formally launches a process to blacklist the group, a move that has long been requested by Israel and which will be discussed in early June, several EU diplomats told AFP news agency.

"We hope to have an agreement by the end of June," one of the diplomats said, adding that EU experts would meet in a special committee to discuss the request early June.

Both Israel and the United States have pressured the 27-member bloc to follow their example and designate Hezbollah as a terrorist group but the issue remained sensitive and divisive, with Britain openly in favor while France and Italy were believed reluctant.

France, the former colonial power, feared the move could destabilize Lebanon, where Hezbollah is part of the government. There was also concern for the safety of UN peacekeepers there.

The mood shifted however last year after an attack on Israeli tourists in Bulgaria which Sofia has blamed on Hezbollah and the arrest of a suspected Hezbollah agent in Cyprus, believed to have been planning attacks there.

Currently in Europe, only the Netherlands lists Hezbollah as a terrorist group, while Britain blacklists its military wing.

Outside Europe, the United States, Canada and Israel have long blacklisted the group, allowing them to criminalize Hezbollah activities, freeze its bank accounts and monitor suspected members.

In April, Bahrain became the first Arab country to blacklist Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.

Its alleged backing and training of radical Shiite groups against Bahrain was the main reason given for the decision.

The Bahraini cabinet has tasked the interior and foreign ministries with implementing the decision.

"The measure is to protect Bahrain's security and stability from Hezbollah's threats," Bahraini MP Adil al-Asoumi told Al Arabiya.

There is evidence that Hezbollah is instigating violence against the government in Bahrain, Asoumi added.

The country has a Shiite majority, but is ruled by a Sunni monarchy.

Who would have thought that Hezbollah, the Party of Allah, was a terrorist organisation? I'm so overcome, I've had to recline on the chaise-lounge with an attack of the vapours. Their flag has a machine gun in it, for god's sake, but no, we mustn't draw any conclusions from that, must we? That would be horribly racist, not to say Islamophobic.

What makes me laugh is that the British only want ban the military wing of the organisation, as if pulling Shahid & Abdullah off bomb-making duties for a day to hand out free falafel to some kiddies has convinced MI6 that there is any other wing.

It's just shocking that Bahrain, a Muslim country, had the insight & guts to ban Hezbollah before we did.

Take a look at the video above & to the right, 'Khaybar, Khaybar, Ya Yahoud'; 'Khaybar, Khaybar, oh Jews', is what Muslims always chant at Jews (full quote: Khaybar, Khaybar, Ya Yahoud, jaish Mohammed saya'ud; Khaybar, Khaybar, oh Jews, Mohammed's army is coming back). It refers to Mohammed's rape & pillage of the Jewish town of Khaybar:

Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 510:
Allah's Apostle reached Khaybar at night & it was his habit that, whenever he reached the enemy at night, he will not attack them till it was morning. When it was morning, the Jews came out with their spades & baskets, & when they saw him, they said, "Mohammed! By Allah! Mohammed & his army!" The Prophet said, "Khaybar is destroyed, for whenever we approach a nation, then evil will be the morning for those who have been warned."

Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 512:
The Prophet offered the Fajr Prayer near Khaybar when it was still dark & then said, "Allahu-Akbar! Khaybar is destroyed, for whenever we approach a nation, then evil will be the morning for those who have been warned." Then the inhabitants of Khaybar came out running on the roads. The Prophet had their warriors killed, their offspring & woman taken as captives. Safiya was amongst the captives. She first came in the share of Dahya Alkali but later on she belonged to the Prophet. The Prophet made her manumission as her 'Mahr'.

Tabari, VIII:116:
"So Mohammed began seizing their herds & their property bit by bit. He conquered Khaybar home by home. The first stronghold defeated was Naim. Next was Qamus, the community of Abi Huqayq. The Messenger took some of its people captive, including Safiya bint Huyayy, the wife of Kinana & her two cousins. The Prophet chose Safiya for himself."

Tabari, VIII:117:
"Dahya had asked the Messenger for Safiya when the Prophet chose her for himself. Mohammed gave Dahya her two cousins instead."

Ishaq's Sira, Chapter 20, Paragraph 5:
The Muslims were in the habit of eating the flesh of their own donkeys, but on this day the apostle made various prohibitions for the future; no Believer was to eat the flesh of tame donkeys. Although the apostle of Allah forbade this flesh, he permitted consumption of horseflesh. He also declared, 'It is not lawful for a Believer to irrigate another man's harvest [to have intercourse with pregnant captives]; nor shall any Believer have intercourse with a captive woman until she has been purified; neither shall a Believer ride a captured animal which has not been assigned to him & return it, emaciated, to the joint stock of plunder; neither shall he wear a captured garment & return it, worn out, to the stock of plunder.'

Ishaq's Sira, Chapter 20, Paragraph 11:
Kinana, the husband of Safiya, had been guardian of the tribe's treasures, & he was brought before the apostle, who asked where they were hidden. But Kinana refused to disclose the place. Then a Jew came who said, 'I have seen Kinana walk around a certain ruin every morning.' The apostle asked Kinana, 'Art thou prepared to die if we find thou knewest where the treasure was?' And he replied, 'Yes.' So the apostle ordered the ruin to be dug up, & some of the treasure was found. After that Kinana was asked again about the remainder, but he still refused to tell. The apostle of Allah handed him over to al-Zubayr, saying, 'Torture him until he tells what he knows', & al-Zubayr kindled a fire on his chest so that he almost expired; then the apostle gave him to Mohammed bin Maslama, who struck off his head.

What ever gave them the idea that these people were terrorists?
