Saudi Sheikh in Tears Over Blasphemous Tweeter.

Here is Sheikh Nasser bin Sleiman Omar on Saudi television in floods because some naughty blaspheming blogger has said something naughty about Mohammed or Allah. Bless.

The miscreant, one Hamza Kashgari, a one-time journalist for al-Bilad, tweeted three times on 4th February last year about meeting Mohammed:

  • On your birthday, I shall not bow to you. I shall not kiss your hand. Rather, I shall shake it as equals do, & smile at you as you smile at me. I shall speak to you as a friend, no more.
  • On your birthday, I find you wherever I turn. I will say that I have loved aspects of you, hated others, & could not understand many more.
  • On your birthday, I will say that I have loved the rebel in you, that you've always been a source of inspiration to me, & that I do not like the halos of divinity around you. I shall not pray for you.
Tame enough, you'd have thought but eight days later he was apprehended in Malaysia & deported back to Saudi Arabia. Not so funny now, is it?

If they go to those lengths for tweets as tame as that, what on Earth would they say to someone pointing out that Mohammed was a disgusting, raping, thieving, blood-spattered pederast?

He is still detained, potentially facing capital charges of apostasy. Sign the petition at Avaaz & Change.org.
